It is imperative that athletes have a familiar and in depth knowledge background for all nutritional purposes. All sports need to require that athletes and coaches have proper knowledge on nutrition and doping for example. Because it is possible that some athletes within certain sports are not aware of the two important factors; and being unaware can lead to unwanted outcomes. For example, synchronized swimmers have not been investigated for having proper knowledge on nutrition and doping methods according to a study. In the study, researchers found that "particular" coaches knew more information about doping and nutrition than the athletes. Although it is good that "certain" coaches within the study knew or had more background information on the two factors, that should be unacceptable as a health profession. All coaches and athletes need to improve on understanding the knowledge of nutritional purposes, not just "certain" ones.
